In this chapter I will try to trace the developmental lines of my family backwards and forwards in time - point of departure being my Great Grandparents. We all have four pairs of Great Grandparents – eight individuals in all - with whom we share 12.5 % of our genetic material. I have also tried to reconstruct my parents story before my entrance into the world. I will primarily put stress on ancestral research, but I really find the mapping of descendants almost equally exciting. Exploring family-development from this point of view really puts one’s own life in a different perspective. As an epilogue I will try to attach photographs of the latest arrivals in each of my four family-branches.
